Jindřichův Hradec Castle (Czech Republic)

Weather…

Jindřichův Hradec Castle is the third-largest castle complex in the Czech Republic, following Prague Castle and Český Krumlov. Spanning approximately three hectares, the complex features buildings from various architectural eras, including Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque. The original stronghold was founded in the 13th century by the Lords of Neuhaus and was transformed into a magnificent Renaissance residence in the 16th century under Adam II of Neuhaus. One of the architectural highlights is the Rondel, a splendid garden pavilion built in the Italian Mannerist style, celebrated for its extraordinary acoustics. The interiors house valuable collections, including rare tapestries and an extensive portrait gallery. The castle is also famously associated with the legend of the White Lady, who is said to haunt the premises. Today, it serves as a significant cultural landmark and a premier tourist destination in Southern Bohemia.
