Jičín

Jičín, often called the gateway to the Bohemian Paradise, is a characterful town rich in history and legend. It is inextricably linked with Duke Albrecht von Wallenstein, who transformed the town into a magnificent centre of his duchy in the 17th century. Wallenstein Square, lined with arcaded houses, is dominated by the imposing Valdická Gate. The town is also home to the famous Czech fairytale character, the robber Rumcajs, to whom an annual festival is dedicated, making Jičín a magical place for families.
