Humpolec, a town in the Vysočina Region, has become immortalized in Czech pop culture through the line 'Humpolec? I don't know any Humpolec!' from the famous film 'Marečku, podejte mi pero!'. However, the town has much more to offer. Historically, it was a center for cloth manufacturing. Today, it is best known for the Bernard family brewery, famous for its unpasteurized beer, which enjoys an excellent reputation nationwide. The historic center has a well-preserved square. A modern curiosity is the 'Hliníkárium,' a museum dedicated to the fictional character Hliník, who 'moved to Humpolec' according to the famous movie quote. The ruins of Orlík Castle nearby offer a beautiful view of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands landscape.
