- Access to the mineral springs is mostly free; buy a traditional porcelain spa cup with a spout to sip the healing waters.

- Take a short walk or the local mini-train to the beautiful 'Amerika' nature reserve just outside the town.

Frantiskovy Lazne was founded in 1793 by Emperor Francis II and has meticulously preserved its welcoming, neoclassical character. Together with Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne, it forms the West Bohemian Spa Triangle, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2021. The town is distinguished by its uniform yellow-and-white classical architecture and expansive parklands that invite long, relaxing strolls. The healing waters of its 20 mineral springs are rich in carbon dioxide and are primarily used to treat cardiovascular diseases. A famous symbol of the town is the bronze statue of little Francis (František); local legend holds that women who touch the statue's toe will soon become pregnant. Beyond medical treatments, the modern Aquaforum water world provides relaxation for families. Nearby, the Soos National Nature Reserve is worth a visit for its unique mud volcanoes and mofettes. Don't miss the local spa wafers (oplatky), freshly baked in various flavors.
