Adršpach is home to one of the most impressive 'rock cities' in Europe, located in Northeast Bohemia near the Polish border. The area is filled with monumental sandstone formations reaching up to 80 meters high, with imaginative names like 'The Lovers,' 'Mayor and Mayoress,' and 'Sugar Loaf.' A 3.5 km loop trail takes visitors through narrow crevices, past a 16-meter-high waterfall, and to a photogenic lake where boat rides are available. The mystical atmosphere of the rocks has long attracted travelers and filmmakers alike; parts of 'The Chronicles of Narnia' were filmed here. The microclimate within the deep rock ravines stays cool even in summer heat, and the air quality is exceptional. Local inns in the village of Adršpach serve traditional Czech hearty meals, great after a day of exploring the rugged terrain. Getting to Adršpach is easy by train, with the station conveniently located right at the entrance to the park. Due to its popularity, it is highly recommended to book entry tickets online in advance. The best times to visit are during spring or early autumn to enjoy the natural beauty without the peak summer crowds.
