The deep gorge is typically entirely accessed via unpaved, rough forestry roads traversing the remote western Paphos district; a reliable 4x4 off-road vehicle is very often and highly recommended for safely making the final approach.
Best season
Spring and autumn usually easily provide the absolute best hiking conditions, entirely avoiding the extreme heat of the oppressive summer and the very high potential for deeply muddy, impassable dirt trails during the wet winter.
Terrain & paths
The remote gorge itself features incredibly steep, rugged slopes and very uneven, rocky footpaths winding through extremely dense pine forests, thereby absolutely requiring an excellent level of surefootedness and excellent physical balance.
What to bring
