Latchi (or Latsi) is located about two kilometers west of Polis and has evolved from a small carob shipping port into one of Cyprus's most welcoming marinas. The town is famous for its seafood restaurants, housed in former warehouses right on the quay. Fresh fish from the waters of Chrysochous Bay is served daily here, making Latchi a culinary magnet on the west coast. The harbor is the central starting point for boat trips to Akamas National Park and the famous Blue Lagoon. Visitors can rent small motorboats here to explore the coast on their own or join organized tours. Latchi's beaches are clean, mostly pebbly, and offer crystal-clear water handy for snorkeling and diving. Nearby are the 'Baths of Aphrodite', a mythological site where the goddess of love is said to have bathed. Some of the island's most spectacular hiking trails also start from there. Latchi has a relaxed blend of maritime flair and untouched nature. The best time to visit is from May to October, with the evening hours at the harbor offering an incomparable atmosphere.
