The town is dominated by the medieval Prozor fortress, which once served as a vital defense point against Ottoman advances. In the heart of the town lies the Česma, a beautiful natural spring and park that inspired the libretto of the famous Croatian opera 'Ero the Joker'. Just a short distance from the town center, visitors can find the memorable Glavaš source of the Cetina river, often called the 'Eye of the Earth', and the 9th-century Church of the Holy Salvation (sv. Spas), a key example of early Croatian architecture. Vrlika is renowned for its 'Silent Circle Dance' (nijemo kolo), performed rhythmically without musical instruments, which is protected by UNESCO.
