Turanj stretches along the coast of the Pašman Channel and is directly connected to the neighboring village of Sveti Filip i Jakov by a 4-kilometer seaside promenade. The village's name derives from medieval fortification towers built in the 15th century to protect against Ottoman raids. Visitors particularly enjoy the gently sloping pebble beaches like Plaža Morovićka, which are excellent for families. Directly opposite the village lies Babac Island, reachable in a few minutes by boat, where the ruins of a 15th-century fortified summer house can be visited. The local cuisine is centered around fresh seafood from the channel and olive oil from the surrounding groves. Due to its central location between Zadar and Biograd na Moru, Turanj serves as an excellent base for trips to the Kornati National Park or the Vransko Jezero Nature Park.
