Biograd na Moru, meaning 'white city on the sea', is home to a glorious past as the coronation city of Croatian monarchs. In the 11th century, it served as the center of the medieval Croatian state until its destruction by the Venetians in 1125. Today, Biograd is a bustling tourist center, particularly beloved by the nautical community. The town is situated on a peninsula, flanked by modern marinas and a scenic promenade offering wide views across the Pašman Channel. Its strategic location makes it the well-suited base for exploring the Kornati and Telašćica National Parks, as well as the nearby Vrana Lake. For those interested in history, the Local Museum holds a unique collection of artifacts from a 16th-century Venetian galley that sank nearby and was only discovered in the 1960s. The city successfully blends its rich historical legacy with a lively, contemporary holiday atmosphere.
