Potomje is located in the central part of the Pelješac peninsula and is considered the epicenter of Croatian red wine production. The town is inseparably linked with the name Dingač, the first protected wine region in Croatia. A special landmark is the 400-meter-long Dingač tunnel, carved into the rock in 1973 to provide winemakers direct access to the steep, sun-drenched slopes by the sea. The village is home to numerous renowned wine cellars, such as Matuško or Madirazza, where visitors can taste the robust Plavac Mali. Potomje's architecture is characterized by old stone houses and wine storage facilities, creating an authentic atmosphere. From the slopes above the tunnel, there is a sweeping view of the Adriatic and the islands of Korčula and Mljet. In addition to viticulture, the region is known for its olive oils and traditional Dalmatian cuisine. Potomje regularly hosts wine festivals that attract visitors from around the world. The town is a must for every wine lover and features a peaceful base for exploring the entire peninsula. The surrounding landscape invites hikes through the vineyards, which represent a unique cultural heritage.
