Medveja is located on the beautiful Opatija Riviera, at the foot of the Učka Nature Park. The town is primarily known for its spectacular pebble beach, about two kilometers long, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the Kvarner Gulf. Here, the deep blue sea meets the green slopes of the Učka Mountains, creating a unique backdrop. According to legend, Medveja was named after the mythological Medea. Today, the place is a pulsating center for summer vacationers. The beach is excellently equipped and features numerous water sports opportunities, bars, and restaurants. Behind the beach is a large campsite, making Medveja a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to beach life, the surroundings of Medveja offer fantastic hiking opportunities. A marked trail leads through the 'Draga' gorge up to the mountain village of Lovranska Draga and further to the summit of Vojak. This combination of sea and mountains is characteristic of this part of Croatia and gives variety for every taste. Access is very easy as Medveja lies directly on the coastal road between Lovran and Mošćenička Draga. Opatija is only about 10 kilometers away, so visitors can enjoy the chic atmosphere of the old spa town while experiencing the natural beauty of the beach in Medveja.
