Mošćenice is situated 173 meters above sea level on a steep hill above the coastal resort of Mošćenička Draga. The village has almost entirely preserved its medieval character, featuring narrow stone streets, arched passages, and ancient houses huddled together. The 17th-century town gate leads into the historic center, home to the Parish Church of St. Andrew. A highlight is the small ethnographic museum, which has insights into the region's past way of life, and the historic olive mill known as 'Mošćenički toš'. From the town walls, a panoramic view stretches from Rijeka across the islands of Krk and Cres to the Istrian peninsula. Active visitors can take the 750 steps down to the beach of Mošćenička Draga to cool off in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.
