Kaštel is located in the northwestern part of Istria, on a hill above the Dragonja river valley. The village marks an important border crossing to Slovenia but has retained its quiet, rural atmosphere. From Kaštel, visitors enjoy wide views over the Istrian hills down to the sea near Piran Bay. The region around Kaštel is a true paradise for foodies. The hills are covered with Malvazija and Teran grapevines, as well as extensive olive groves.
