Gustirna is located in the municipality of Marina, just a few kilometers inland from the Central Dalmatian coast. The name derives from the local word for a cistern (gustirna), pointing to the historical importance of water supply in this karst region. The village is a prime example of traditional Dalmatian rural life, surrounded by countless olive trees, some of which are over 500 years old. Visitors find absolute peace here and can admire the art of dry-stone wall construction, which is part of UNESCO's intangible world heritage. The surroundings are excellent for cycling and hiking through the hilly hinterland. Gustirna produces some of the region's best olive oil, which can be tasted directly from the producers. Despite its rural seclusion, the beaches of Marina and the UNESCO-protected town of Trogir are only a short drive away. The local parish church of St. Nicholas serves as the spiritual center of the village.
