Clock Tower of Cartagena (Colombia)

Weather…

The Clock Tower, also known as Boca del Puente, is the iconic main gateway to the historic old city of Cartagena de Indias. Originally built in the early 17th century as part of the city's fortifications, it served as the sole access point via a drawbridge. The distinctive tower structure with the clock was added in the 19th century and is now one of the most photographed landmarks in Colombia. The architecture blends colonial defensive construction with later Neoclassical elements. The tower overlooks the Plaza de los Coches, which was once a market square. Today, the Clock Tower is the starting point for tours through the UNESCO World Heritage site and a symbol of the city's colonial history. Its yellow facade and central passageway make it an unmistakable meeting point for locals and tourists alike.
