Sanya
Sanya is China's premier tropical holiday destination, offering sunshine all year round. The city is divided into several bays, such as the bustling Yalong Bay with its fine white sand and world-class luxury hotels, or Dadonghai Bay, known for water sports and lively nightlife. Another major highlight is the monumental 108-meter-tall Guanyin statue at the Nanshan Temple, which towers majestically over the South China Sea. The island's tropical nature is also evident in the Yanoda Rainforest, where visitors can explore the dense jungle on suspension bridges and glass paths. The local gastronomy combines the freshest seafood with the flavors of Hainan cuisine, including the famous Wenchang chicken and sweet coconut desserts served everywhere. Sanya has its own international airport (Phoenix International Airport) and is well-connected to the rest of the island by high-speed trains. The best time to visit is from November to March to escape the winter cold and enjoy extremely pleasant and warm temperatures.
