Water temperature…
Sinemorets is located in the far southeast of Bulgaria, set within the Strandzha Nature Park near the Turkish border. Its most iconic feature is the mouth of the Veleka River, which forms a narrow sandbar, allowing visitors to swim in both fresh river water and the salt water of the Black Sea. This unique geography creates one of the most photographed landscapes in the country. The village has maintained a quiet, authentic atmosphere, making it a favorite for those seeking to avoid mass tourism. Nearby beaches like Butamyata and the secluded Silistar are famous for their crystal-clear waters. The surrounding Strandzha mountains offer excellent hiking trails through ancient oak forests, home to rare flora and diverse bird species. Local taverns serve fresh Black Sea fish and regional specialties like oak honeydew honey. Sinemorets is about 90 km south of Burgas and is best reached by car. The high season runs from June to September, but late spring is also convenient for hikers wanting to witness the blooming wildflowers and lush greenery of the national park.
