Banya (Varna) is a scenic village on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, located in the Varna Province near the town of Byala. It is situated where the easternmost ridges of the Balkan Mountains meet the sea. This unique geographical setting provides a blend of mountain forest air and maritime climate, making it a popular spot for quiet retreats. The village is best known for its proximity to the Irakli Nature Reserve, home to one of Bulgaria's last pristine wild beaches. Historically, the region has been defined by viticulture, as the limestone-rich soil has excellent conditions for vineyards. Despite the growth of coastal tourism, Banya has maintained its calm, rural charm away from the major resorts. The surrounding flora includes rare plant species protected within the nearby Kamchia Biosphere Reserve. The village's architecture features a mix of traditional stone structures and modern holiday homes.
