Banya is a characterful village in the Razlog Municipality, tucked away in the photogenic Razlog Valley between the Pirin, Rila, and Rhodope Mountains. The settlement is famous for its over 70 thermal springs, with water temperatures ranging between 37 and 57 degrees Celsius. These natural resources make Banya one of southwestern Bulgaria's most significant wellness and spa centers. Historically, the healing powers of the springs were appreciated by the Romans and later by the Ottomans, evidenced by the well-preserved remains of the Old Roman Bath and the Turkish Bath in the village. Banya has developed rapidly in recent years, now offering modern spa hotels and outdoor thermal pools while remaining authentic and peaceful. Its proximity to the Bansko ski resort, only 5 kilometers away, makes Banya an attractive year-round destination that combines winter sports with thermal relaxation. The surrounding area also provides numerous opportunities for hiking and horseback riding in the pristine nature of the Bulgarian high mountains.
