Belaruskali in Soligorsk is one of the world's largest and most strategically vital mining corporations, focusing entirely on the extraction and processing of potash salts. The enterprise's history began in 1958, leading to the creation of the city of Soligorsk directly around these massive underground potassium deposits. Today, Belaruskali operates seven enormous mining and processing complexes, extracting precious fertilizer raw materials from depths reaching up to a thousand meters. Supplying roughly a fifth of the global potash market, the company is an indispensable player in international agriculture and food security. Interestingly, the extensive salt mines also house a unique underground speleotherapy clinic, where patients with respiratory illnesses receive treatment immersed in the highly pure, saline air of the deep subterranean tunnels.
