Argentine National Congress Palace (Argentina)

Weather…

The Palace of the Argentine National Congress in Buenos Aires is the seat of the legislative branch and one of the city's most monumental buildings. Designed by Italian architect Vittorio Meano in the neoclassical style, construction began in 1897 and the building was inaugurated in 1906, though it was not fully completed until 1946. Its most prominent feature is the 80-meter-high bronze-clad dome, which is one of the largest of its kind in the world. The building is characterized by its white marble facade, granite base, and a grand staircase flanked by bronze sculptures. Inside, it houses the chambers for both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, as well as the ornate Library of Congress. Located at the western end of Avenida de Mayo, the palace faces the expansive Congressional Plaza and its central fountain. As a National Historic Monument, the building serves as a major symbol of Argentine democracy and constitutional governance.
