Sukth is a town in the Durrës County of central Albania, situated along the lower reaches of the Erzen River near the Adriatic coast. Historically, Sukth was primarily established as a major agricultural hub, hosting one of the country's largest state-owned farms during the socialist era. Its geographic location is highly strategic, lying between Albania's two largest urban centers, Tirana and Durrës, which has fueled rapid population growth and suburban development in recent decades. The town is divided into two main areas, Sukth i Ri (New Sukth) and Sukth i Vjetër (Old Sukth), representing its historical core and modern expansion. Today, Sukth thrives due to its proximity to the SH2 highway, attracting logistics firms and commercial enterprises. Despite increasing urbanization, the fertile alluvial plains of the Erzen River continue to support significant market gardening and horticultural activities, blending the town's agrarian roots with its emerging industrial identity.
