The centerpiece of this San painting is a large, 1.5-meter long reclining human figure, which scholars often interpret as a shaman or leader in a state of ritual trance. The level of artistic detail is exceptional, showcasing intricate body markings, elaborate headdresses, and a large entourage of smaller human figures and animals, including dogs and antelopes. Estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old, the artwork was created using enduring mineral pigments mixed with organic binders.
