Chambishi is a significant industrial hub located in the heart of Zambia's Copperbelt, positioned between the major cities of Kitwe and Chingola. The town has emerged as one of the most critical centers for copper processing and mining, with international investments, particularly from China, playing a decisive role in its growth. Chambishi is home to the Chambishi Copper Mine as well as a large copper smelter and a sulfuric acid plant, all essential to the country's industrial output. Geographically, the town is located within the undulating woodland of the Copperbelt and enjoys excellent transport links to the province's main arterial roads. Since the resumption of mining operations in the late 1990s, Chambishi has experienced rapid population growth and urban modernization. The town also serves as a major employer for surrounding communities and contributes substantially to Zambia's gross domestic product. Alongside heavy industry, service sectors are increasingly developing to meet the needs of the expanding workforce.
