Warairarepano Cable Car (Venezuela)

Weather…

The Warairarepano Cable Car, historically known as the Caracas Cable Car, is a vital tourist attraction connecting the city of Caracas to the summit of the Ávila National Park. The system ascends from the Maripérez station at an altitude of 1,000 meters to a peak of 2,100 meters above sea level. First inaugurated in 1956 under the government of Marcos Pérez Jiménez, the cable car fell into disrepair and was closed for several decades starting in the late 1970s. It was extensively modernized and reopened in 2001, featuring advanced cabins and updated safety protocols. The ride spans approximately 3.5 kilometers and takes about 15 minutes, providing panoramic views of the valley of Caracas. At the top, tourists can access trails, an ice-skating rink, and the architectural landmark Hotel Humboldt.
