This destination pairs the nostalgic charm of Jiufen’s mountain slopes with the coastal majesty of Sandiaojiao. Jiufen, a former gold mining hub, is famous for its lantern-lit Old Street, historic tea houses, and sweeping views of the northern coast. Its narrow stairs and misty atmosphere inspired the visual style of legendary animated films. Sandiaojiao, or Cape Santiago, represents the easternmost tip of Taiwan’s main island. The iconic white lighthouse serves as a guiding light and an excellent viewpoint for the Pacific horizon. Historically significant as the landing site for Spanish sailors in the 17th century, it now has scenic trails and a romantic atmosphere for couples and travelers alike.
