Taipei Zoo (Taiwan)

Weather…

The Taipei Zoo, located in the Muzha District, is the largest zoo in Taiwan and one of the largest in Asia. Originally founded in 1914 in the Yuanshan area, it moved to its current 165-hectare site in 1986 to provide better facilities for its inhabitants. The zoo is divided into various themed areas, such as the Formosan Animal Area, the Tropical Rainforest Area, and the African Animal Area. One of its most popular attractions is the Giant Panda House, which became home to Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan in 2008 as a gift from mainland China. The zoo plays a vital role in wildlife conservation and education, participating in international breeding programs for endangered species. It is seamlessly integrated with the Maokong Gondola system, making it a central component of Taipei's recreational infrastructure. It attracts millions of visitors each year and serves as a primary resource for nature conservation awareness.
