Slåttdalsberget (Sweden)

Weather…

Slåttdalsberget is a prominent mountain in Skuleskogen National Park, located on the High Coast (Höga Kusten) of Sweden. Composed of reddish Nordingrå granite, the mountain is world-famous for the Slåttdalsskrevan, a massive crevice that splits the peak in two. This natural corridor is approximately 200 meters long, 30 meters deep, and only 7 meters wide, formed by the erosion of a softer diabase dike over millions of years. The entire area is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its unique post-glacial isostatic rebound, the highest ever recorded globally. From the summit of Slåttdalsberget, hikers can enjoy sweeping views of the Baltic archipelago and the surrounding ancient forests. The rocky plateau at the top is characterized by sparse vegetation, stunted pines, and resilient lichens.
