The Edge of the World, officially known as Jebel Fihrayn, is a spectacular geological natural wonder located about 90 kilometers northwest of Riyadh. It is part of the massive Tuwaiq Escarpment, which stretches for hundreds of kilometers across the heart of Saudi Arabia. The cliffs here drop roughly 300 meters vertically into a dried-up riverbed, offering an endless view over the vast desert, which gave the location its popular name. Geologically, the rock consists of limestone that formed over 150 million years ago in a shallow sea, evidenced by the numerous fossils found in the area. In the past, important caravan routes ran along these cliffs, connecting the east and west of the Arabian Peninsula. Today, it is a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts seeking dramatic sunsets and the silent grandeur of the desert landscape.
