Al-Majma'ah is a city and governorate in the central part of Saudi Arabia, in the Riyadh province, about 180 km north of the capital, Riyadh. Historically, the city was the capital of the Sudair region and an important stop on the caravan routes. The city's name comes from the Arabic word for 'to gather', referring to the fact that various roads and valleys met here. Al-Majma'ah has preserved its historical character, especially in the old town, where traditional Najdi-style mud-brick buildings can be seen. The renovated Heritage Village showcases the traditional lifestyle and architecture of the region. Modern Al-Majma'ah is a rapidly developing city that has become an important educational center thanks to Majma'ah University, a large, modern university. The university has numerous faculties and attracts students from the surrounding areas. The city's economy is based on government services, education, trade, and agriculture (dates, grain).
