A modern playground has been opened in the Orașul Nou district of Moldova Nouă, a project completed with the support of Aquacaraș. The facility provides local children with a safe and contemporary environment for outdoor recreation.
Moldova Nouă, or Neumoldowa, is located on one of the most spectacular stretches of the Danube, known as the Clisura Dunării (Danube Gorge). This port town in Caraș-Severin County, right on the border with Serbia, provides dramatic views of the river, which is wide and majestic here. The landscape is dominated by limestone cliffs that drop steeply to the water. The area is a paradise for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants to enjoy the tranquility and vastness of the river. From Moldova Nouă, you can take boat trips into the Iron Gates gorge to discover hidden caves like Peștera Gaura cu Muscă or visit Ostrov Island, home to wild horses. The town itself has a history of copper mining, the remnants of which are still visible, lending the landscape a raw, post-industrial charm. Despite the economic difficulties following the closure of the mines, the region has enormous tourist potential. The Danube promenade is a beautiful place for a walk, especially at sunset. The local cuisine, influenced by Serbian and Romanian traditions, features delicious fish dishes. Moldova Nouă is the gateway to one of the wildest and most beautiful natural areas in Romania.
