New Scania Service Center Opened in Prejmer Industrial Park

A new specialized service center for heavy commercial vehicles has begun operations at a strategic location in Prejmer. The facility strengthens the local industrial park's role as a logistics and service hub.

Prejmer, a village in the heart of the Burzenland region, is home to one of the most impressive and best-preserved fortified churches in Eastern Europe, rightfully listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knights, the complex served for centuries as a refuge for the village community during numerous sieges. The massive walls, up to 12 meters high and 4 meters thick, enclose the Gothic church like a protective mantle. The interior of the fortress is just as fascinating: a system of corridors and stairs leads to nearly 300 storage rooms, small, numbered chambers where each family stored their supplies for emergencies. A walk through this 'honeycomb' of wood and clay is a journey back in time to medieval daily life. One of the most unique defensive devices is the so-called 'death organ,' a primitive but effective rapid-fire weapon. A visit to Prejmer is not just a history lesson, but also a profound experience that impressively illustrates the resilience and ingenuity of the Transylvanian Saxon settlers.
