Litrița Peak is a prominent elevation in the Iezer-Păpușa Massif, part of the Southern Carpathians in Romania. Standing at approximately 1,844 meters, the summit features strategic views over the Rucăr-Bran corridor and surrounding ranges such as Piatra Craiului and Bucegi. The landscape is characterized by vast alpine meadows used as summer pastures and steep, forested slopes at lower elevations. Geologically, the massif consists primarily of crystalline schists, resulting in a somewhat gentler but still imposing terrain. The flora includes typical high-mountain species such as gentians, rhododendrons, and rare grasses. Hikers value the peak for its tranquility and less crowded trails compared to neighboring massifs. The region is also a vital water source, with numerous streams originating here and flowing into the Râul Târgului river.

The approach typically starts from the mountain villages at the base of the Iezer-Păpușa range. Hikers usually follow marked forestry roads before ascending the steep trails towards the main ridge.

Sturdy, high-ankle hiking boots are absolutely essential for the rocky sections of the Southern Carpathians. Always carry a windproof jacket, extra layers, and plenty of water, as sources are scarce.
