Zeewolde, located in the province of Flevoland, holds the unique title of being the youngest municipality in the Netherlands, built entirely on reclaimed land. Unlike other towns in Flevoland, Zeewolde is not on an island but on the 'mainland' polder. The town is renowned for its modern, spacious planning that prioritizes nature and recreation. It borders the Wolderwijd and Nuldernauw lakes, making it a prime destination for sailing, windsurfing, and swimming. One of its major attractions is the Horsterwold, one of the largest deciduous forests in Western Europe, excellent for hiking, cycling, and wildlife spotting.
