Pretty Bay is a large public sandy beach in Birżebbuġa. It is fully open to the public and free to access, with calm water generally suitable for swimming.
Typical hours
As a public beach, it is accessible at all hours. Lifeguards are typically on duty during summer months from about 9am to 6pm, and facilities may close at dusk.
Photography
Photography is welcome everywhere on the beach and promenade. The best shots feature the bay and colorful boats, especially during sunrise or sunset.
Time needed
A typical beach visit lasts two to three hours for swimming and sunbathing. You can easily spend a half day if you include lunch at one of the nearby cafés.

Getting there
Pretty Bay is reachable by bus from Valletta (route 82) or by car with parking along the seafront. From the bus stop, it is a 2-minute walk to the sand.
