The mine is an active, security-sensitive industrial site not open to the public. From the nearest village, however, one can see the transport vehicles and excavation work in the distance.

From a hill outside the security fence, there is a wide view over the open-pit area and the spoil heaps. The access road also occasionally has views of the heavy machinery and the pit.

In the region around the mine, handicrafts made from local materials and gold jewelry from independent merchants are often offered. On local markets, one can occasionally see small amounts of gold dust in pharmaceutical vials.

The open-pit operation runs all year round, with production independent of weather, but the dry season from November to April features the best working conditions. During the rainy season, gravel roads can become temporarily impassable.
