The name is derived from a local legend about a golden lady who guards a hidden treasure within the rocks. Hikers reach the formation via the Mullerthal Trail, and the site is particularly striking due to its moss-covered walls and expansive views over the Black Ernz valley. Over millennia, erosion has carved narrow corridors and overhangs that are characteristic of the Berdorf region. Today, Goldfralay is a protected natural monument and a key feature of the Mëllerdall UNESCO Global Geopark, which preserves the region's unique geological heritage.

As a natural landmark in the forest, there are no opening hours. The best time to visit is during daylight to see the unique weathering patterns. Early morning or late afternoon light is especially beautiful for photos.

Photography is allowed and highly rewarding. Use different perspectives: from below the rocks look mighty, from above you get a wide view. A wide-angle lens helps capture the entire formation.
Time needed

Getting there
