Britam Tower (Kenya)

Weather…

Britam Tower is a significant architectural landmark located in the Upper Hill area of Nairobi, standing at a total height of 200 meters. Completed in 2017, the building is renowned for its unique prismatic shape, which transitions from a square footprint at the base to a sharp point at the top. The 32-story skyscraper provides premium Grade A office space and serves as the regional headquarters for Britam Holdings Limited. A notable engineering feature is the 60-meter spire, which was designed to house wind turbines for sustainable power generation. The tower's design focuses on environmental sustainability, utilizing natural ventilation to minimize reliance on mechanical cooling systems. At the time of its completion, it was the tallest building in Kenya and the third-tallest on the African continent. The exterior facade is clad with ceramic rods that provide solar shading while giving the building a distinct texture.
