Water temperature…
Bagno Vignoni is an architectural jewel in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is world-renowned for its "Piazza delle Sorgenti," a massive 16th-century rectangular pool built directly over a volcanic thermal spring. Instead of a traditional paved square, the village center is filled with steaming 49°C water, surrounded by historic stone buildings and Renaissance loggias. While bathing in the main square's pool is now prohibited, the thermal waters can be enjoyed in local luxury spas or at the "Parco dei Mulini" at the bottom of the hill, where the water flows through ancient stone channels into natural pools. The village was a key stop on the Via Francigena pilgrimage route and hosted historical figures like Pope Pius II and Lorenzo de' Medici. The atmosphere is particularly magical on cool mornings or evenings when mist rises from the central pool.
