💡 Tips
- Marina di Campo has the island's longest sand beach, but you'll find slightly fewer crowds if you walk to the far western end.
- Rent a scooter to navigate the winding Costa del Sole; it makes pulling over for photos and parking at smaller coves much easier.
- Instead of eating on the busy beach promenade, explore the narrow historic streets right behind the port for the most authentic restaurants.
- If arriving at the local airport (La Pila), pre-book your taxi to the town center, as cabs are rarely waiting outside.
🍽 Food
A robust and spicy seafood soup; look for it in traditional restaurants hidden in the alleys near the harbor.
Fresh pasta tossed with locally caught mixed seafood, best enjoyed at a seafront trattoria.
A traditional ring-shaped sweet bread flavored with aniseed, readily available in the historic center's bakeries.
🛍 Shopping · 🧘 Quiet spots
Purchase locally crafted perfumes inspired by the scent of the sea and Mediterranean scrub from their boutiques in town.
Look for small, hand-carved items made from the local granite in the artisan shops around the area.
Drive up to this quiet hillside village known for its historic granite quarries and beautiful panoramic terraces.
Take a moderate hike up to this isolated Pisan watchtower to enjoy total silence and sweeping views over the bay.

Campo nell'Elba occupies the southwestern section of Elba Island, stretching from the slopes of Mount Capanne down to the coast. It is the only municipality on the island that features an airport, located in the La Pila plain. The main settlement, Marina di Campo, developed around a historic watchtower and a small port. Its 1.5-kilometer sandy beach is the longest on Elba. The western coastal road connects a series of well-known coves carved into the granite cliffs. Among these, "Spiaggia di Cavoli" and "Spiaggia di Fetovaia" are heavily frequented for their sheltered positions and transparent water. "Spiaggia di Pomonte" sits further west, known for the Elviscot shipwreck lying just offshore. Naturists often visit "Le Piscine - spiaggia naturista" and "Spiaggia naturista Le Tombe", which require a hike down steep paths from the main road.
