Jubilee Oil Field (Ghana)

Weather…

The Jubilee Oil Field is Ghana's first world-class offshore petroleum discovery, marking the beginning of the country's commercial oil production in 2010. Discovered in 2007, the field is located in the Tano Basin, approximately 60 kilometers offshore from Cape Three Points in water depths of about 1,100 meters. The field is operated by a consortium led by Tullow Oil, utilizing the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel 'Kwame Nkrumah' for processing and storage. Producing over 120,000 barrels of oil per day, it remains Ghana's most productive oil asset. The development of the Jubilee Field required state-of-the-art deepwater drilling technology and was achieved in record time for a project of its scale. In addition to crude oil, the field yields significant associated natural gas, which is piped onshore to power generation plants. Revenue from Jubilee has significantly boosted Ghana's GDP and transformed the nation into a key energy player in the West African sub-region.
