Weather…

The Bauhaus Dessau is the world's most famous monument of classical modernism and the center of a revolutionary 20th-century design and architectural school. After the Bauhaus was driven out of Weimar in 1925, the iconic school building with its striking glass curtain wall was constructed in Dessau under the direction of Walter Gropius. The structure embodies the principles of functionality and rationality, where form follows function. The UNESCO World Heritage site includes the main building as well as the Master Houses, where famous artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee lived, and the Dessau-Törten estate. The Bauhaus sought a synthesis of art, craft, and industry, lasting ly influencing modern living and design worldwide. Despite its closure by the National Socialists in 1932, the spirit of the Bauhaus remained alive internationally. Today, the building serves as the headquarters of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and houses a museum documenting the history and influence of this pioneering institution.
