Away from the main tower, there are quiet hiking trails leading through the forest and across meadows, constantly offering new, dramatic views of Freiburg and the Rhine Valley.

Most visitors stay at the lower, easily accessible part. Climb the path to see the upper cascades, where it is significantly quieter.

A lesser-known but equally appealing alternative near Todtnau. A short walk takes you to these idyllic, smaller waterfalls.
