Déols is a historic town in central France, serving as the cultural and spiritual cradle of the Indre department. In the Middle Ages, it was home to the Benedictine Abbey of Notre-Dame de Déols, one of the wealthiest and most influential monasteries in the kingdom, often described as a 'daughter of Cluny'.
