Kilpilahti Industrial Park (Finland)

Weather…

The Kilpilahti Industrial Park in Porvoo is the largest oil and chemical cluster in the Nordic countries and a central pillar of the Finnish economy. Spanning an area of approximately 1,300 hectares, the district hosts over 40 companies, including the Neste refinery, Borealis, and Ineos. The site features its own highly efficient industrial port, which is one of Finland's largest by tonnage. Kilpilahti specializes in refining crude oil into high-quality fuels as well as producing plastics and petrochemical feedstocks. In recent years, the focus has shifted heavily towards the circular economy and renewable raw materials, with Neste being a global leader in renewable diesel production here. Over 3,500 people work directly within the park, which maintains its own fire department, water treatment facilities, and power plants. Its strategic location on the Baltic coast enables the efficient import of raw materials and the export of finished products to global markets. Kilpilahti is not only a production site but also an innovation hub for green chemistry and sustainable energy solutions.
