Kragelund Bakke is a prominent geomorphological elevation located near Silkeborg in Central Jutland. The formation of this landscape dates back to the Weichselian glaciation, when advancing glaciers pushed vast amounts of sediment and moraine material ahead of them. The region is characterized by sandy soils and extensive heathlands, which are typical of the central Jutland ridge. Historically, the area has been inhabited since the Stone Age due to its strategic location and fertile valleys, as evidenced by numerous archaeological finds in the vicinity. In the immediate neighborhood lies Kragelund Church, a significant Romanesque building from the 12th century that highlights the medieval importance of the village. Today, the area serves as an important recreational zone, providing wide views over the hilly landscape of central Denmark. Geologically, the hill marks the transition between the sandy outwash plains to the west and the clayey moraine landscapes in the eastern part of the peninsula.
