Rogač is the nautical gateway to Šolta Island, welcoming visitors with a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. The port was used as far back as antiquity and today serves as the main arrival point for ferries from Split. Despite its role as a transport hub, Rogač has preserved its character as a quiet fishing village where one can quickly forget the hustle and bustle of the mainland. The bay of Rogač consists of three arms: Banje, Rogač, and Kašjun. Banje is particularly popular with families due to its pebble beach and shallow water. Sailors appreciate the protected harbor and good infrastructure. Along the waterfront promenade, there are cozy cafes and restaurants serving fresh fish and the island's famous olive oil. From Rogač, paths lead to the nearby interior of the island to the village of Grohote, the oldest settlement on the island. Šolta Island is known for its honey and carob trees (Rogač), from which the town gets its name. For active vacationers, the area has excellent opportunities for snorkeling in the secluded bays north of the harbor.
