💡 Tips

  • Hike to the Sveti Mikula peak on Osoršćica ridge for the best views over the Kvarner islands.
  • Start your hike before 9 AM to avoid the sun; there is very little shade on the mountain.
  • The bridge in nearby Osor opens twice daily (9:00 and 17:00) to let boats through-fun to watch.
  • Parking near the marina can be tight; use the larger public lots on the town outskirts.
  • Visit the Franciscan monastery for its quiet courtyard and 15th-century art.

Osor Town

A 5-minute drive away; a "museum-town" well-suited for a quiet evening stroll.

Nerezine is located on the northeastern coast of Lošinj Island and is the first settlement reached after crossing the bridge from Osor (Cres Island). Originally an agricultural village, Nerezine developed in the 19th century into a significant center for shipbuilding and seafaring. The historic shipyard is still in operation today, bearing witness to this tradition. The heart of the town is the central Studenac square, named after an old well. Towering above Nerezine is the Osoršćica massif. A hike to the Televrin peak (588 m) features one of the most beautiful views over the Kvarner Gulf and the surrounding islands. Cultural treasures include the 15th-century Franciscan monastery with its cloister and valuable paintings. The beaches of Nerezine, such as Galboka or Ridimutak, are characterized by extremely clear water and a mix of pebbles and rocks. The town is first-rate for active vacationers who want to combine sailing, diving, or mountain hiking with the relaxed life in an authentic island settlement.
