Vodnjan is a place full of mysticism and history that has preserved its authentic Istrian character. The town is widely known for the Church of Saint Blaise, which has the tallest bell tower in Istria. Inside, the 'Mummies of Vodnjan' are kept, the undecayed bodies of several saints, considered a medical and religious phenomenon. The collection of sacred art in this church is among the most significant in the region. Strolling through the old town, one notices magnificent palaces in Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles, such as the Palazzo Bradamante. In recent years, Vodnjan has also become a center for street art; numerous murals by local and international artists adorn the old stone walls, providing an exciting contrast to the historic architecture. Another curiosity is the 'Lovers' Lane', considered one of the narrowest streets in the world. The region around Vodnjan is famous for producing high-quality olive oil. Visitors can visit numerous oil mills and participate in tastings to learn more about the art of olive oil production. Its location is good, just a few kilometers from the coast and the ancient city of Pula, making Vodnjan a first-rate retreat with cultural depth.
